Cathe Shock Cardio HiiT Review

This fully chaptered dvd contains three complete 30ish minute cardio workouts, premixes and bonus material. You will need a step for two routine. Cathe works out with 4 background exercisers in a gym set. 

30/30: (28 min) This workout features 30 seconds of work followed by 30 seconds of rest. After a warmup exercises include ice breakers, cardio lunges, step squat turns, up & over step, wide run, soccer drill, plyo jacks, hitch kicks, air jacks, tuck jumps, side kick & punch down, burpees, and floor tap shuffles. 

Double Wave Pyramid: This workout features a 20-40-20 second format. After a warmup exercises include quarter turns, squat jumps, air jacks, tuck jumps, power scissors, jumps forward & back, Mt. climbers, one minute rest and then repeat back down the pyramid. 

40/20: This workout features 40 seconds of work followed by 20 seconds of rest and includes a few one minute breaks. After a warmup, exercises include: split jumps, plyo lunges off the step, long jumps, jump on step, burpee pushups, low cardio lunges off the step, straddle jacks, uneven squats off the tall step, run man off high step, plank butt kicks over step down to plank & up to jab s, ski over platform, and jumps to the high step. 

These are advanced routines. As always Cathe provides an excellent heart pumping workout with superb cuing and form pointers. Love the variety on the dvd and have gotten a ton of use out of these routines. I did not receive this dvd to review.

Sweet and Spicy Vanilla BBQ Rub Featuring Nielsen-Massey Vanillas

I am pleased to introduce Nielsen-Massey Vanillas! And just in time for summer and summer grilling is a delicious rub recipe. I used it on chicken breasts last weekend and everyone loved them. Check out the recipe below. I had the pleasure of trying their Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder. Such a unique product. You use it just like you would liquid vanilla extract but its a powder! Super cool to use for things like rubs, cakes, beverages, and perfect to sprinkle on your coffee. It measures just the same as liquid vanilla so no having to convert anything. The taste is amazing!!! 

Sweet and Spicy Vanilla BBQ Rub
(Makes about ⅓ Cup)

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder 1 tablespoon smoked paprika 1 tablespoon firmly packed dark brown sugar 1 tablespoon Mexican style chili powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon ground marjoram ½ teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon cocoa (Dutch processed) 1½ teaspoons salt ½ teaspoon pepper

Directions 

In a small bowl, add vanilla powder, paprika, sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, marjoram, onion powder and cocoa powder, salt and pepper; combine. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.

This BBQ rub works great with chicken, pork, beef or fish. Whether grilling or oven roasting, generously apply rub before cooking.

This dvd contains a learn a dance segment, 7 dance breakdown segments, and then a bonus complete dance routine. You wont need any equipment for this cardio dance workout. Priya & Kajal workout alone in a nice outdoor set. The dvd contains instructions but also provides a fun workout.

Doonya includes dance styles from pungra, bollypop, village styles, and Indian dance. Exercises learned in the workout include hip pushes, knee pulls, taps, chugs, pliet heel lifts, glute lifts, hops, and tons of fun arm movements. The 7 short segments build on each other, each segment teaching an exercise and then adding a new one to it in the next segment. The bonus segment is a 3 minute dance routine with no instruction. 

I rate this a beginner workout that is fun and a great way to really master the Doonya exercises. Both instructors provide excellent form pointers & cuing. Great addition to any workout library. I received this dvd to review.

Cathe leads this fully chaptered 50 min mostly cardio routine with 3 background exercisers in a brick set. You will not need any equipment for this routine.

After an active warm up, exercises include: knee compbos, punches,  kicks, lunges, elbow strike, low scissor switch & kick, triangle choke hold roll backs, tuck jumps, roll back & up into a pushup, grab & smash, side thrusters, power strike, turtle spinnks, and concludes with floor core work. Cathe builds combos on one side and then you repeat on the other side and the routines are followed by cardio drills.

I rate this a solid to high intermediate routine. As with any boxing style workouts, if you really have to give it your all, you can really get a heart pumping workout. The routines are easy to follow and the routines move right along. Great pace, fun moves, excellent instruction. I did not receive this dvd to review.

Master Lock: Make Summer Safer

Master Lock is THE name I think of when I think of pad locks and all things lockers really. If you go to a gym, you most likely have to provide your own lock for your gym locker or cubby. I have been frequenting a boxing gym nearby and I bring my own lock - so what lock do I turn to? Master Lock of course! I had the pleasure of trying a Master Lock travel lock which works great to lock up my gym locker and is lighter weight than your typical pad lock. Since I have to bring it back and forth with me I really did not want to be carrying around one of those really heavy locks. This lock is tough under fire and I was able to set my own combination so no worries of forgetting your password.

This is the best lock that i have ever had the pleasure of using . Both my husband and I really love it and we cannot get enough of this super duper lock!

Priya & Kajal lead these cardio focused workouts in a beautiful outdoor setting. The dvd contains a warmup, a drill refresher, 11 routines, and a cooldown. You will not need any equipment for these routines. You can play all or select a routine from the menu. There are audio options as well. Routines include: cardio, hi cardio, upper body, legs, core, and more.

The drill refresher is more of a routine that includes instruction than just an instruction section -so you can do this portion many times without getting bored. Each of the 11 routines are one song per routine and each has a specific focus, all include cardio. Exercises include hip shifts, side leg raise, knee hops, ham curls, pliet shuffles, kicks, pliet heel raises, pony, pendulum, fun arm movements, plank, puhsups, V step, fast feet, and other fun cardio work. 

These are intermediate routines in terms of cardio and choreo. There is some strengthening work, but the focus of this dvd is core focused cardio in my opinion. These are super fun routines that will break up your normal exercise routines. I love that these cardio routines really hit the core! I felt it the next day. Pryia & Kajal have a great energy & I really like their instruction style. I highly recommend these routine for fun and effective core+cardio. I received this dvd to review.

• 3 lbs ground beef
• 1 cup minced sun-dried tomato
• 4 oz crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
• 1/2 cup minced chives
• 2 T steak sauce
• 1/3 t. hot sauce
• 2 t Worcestershire sauce
• 1 t black pepper
• 1.5 t salt
• 2 heaping teaspoons of Colman's dry mustard
• 12 hamburger buns

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, sun-dried tomatoes, Gorgonzola, chives, steak sauce, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, and mustard. Cover and refrigerate for two hours. Separate into 12 equal patties. Grill to perfection.
