Review: RKS: Reinhardt Kettlebell System Dics Five

The RKS: Reinhardt Kettlebell System Disc Five review is below. The workouts in the set get progressively more challenging and each disc contains two workouts! You choose your kettlebell weight to dictate the intensity of your workout- making this a great set for all fitness levels!

RKS: Reinhardt Kettlebell System: Disc Five
Owen Evans, 2011

This disc contains two workouts, both done in an outdoor set overlooking a city. These workouts are done voiceover and there are 2 backgrounders that give you a side view of their form. The disc also includes a w/u & c/d and music options. You will only need a kettlebell for these workouts and they are performed barefoot. The set comes in a very nice secure cardboard book that keeps the discs safely in place.

Workout Nine: (24 min)This is a strength ladder workout. You perform 15 min of clean & press - 1 rep up to 4 reps per side followed by a one min rest. The remaining 8 min you perform right, left, and 2 hand swings for 45 seconds each followed by 30 seconds - 2 times total.

Workout Ten: (10 min) In this w/o you perform 8 sets of 5 exercises -completing all 8 of each exercise before moving onto the next. You perform each exercise for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest with 1 min rest between sets. Exercises include: pushups, 2 hand swings, alternating rows, bodyweight or goblet squats, and plank holds. (This was the toughest RKS for me to date!)

The form pointers are great in this as with all the RKS workouts. These workouts get a lot done in a short amount of time and are very functional, hitting all your muscles (especially the core!) and working your cardio system. The set is easily adaptable to any fitness level as you can easily adjust the intensity of your workout depending on the weight of your bell. And because they are timed intervals- you can go at your own pace & rest when needed. I received this dvd to review.
