The FDA is allowing e-cigarette makers until 2022 to submit their plans for preventing underage access to their products. But will that be too late? The underage vaping problem has escalated in recent years, and some consequences are starting to arise. While these devices were and still are marketed as “being safer”, they can lead to nicotine addiction, harmful side effects of frequent nicotine use, irritation to the lining of the lungs and now as shown by countless recent cases, hospitalization. Here are 8 great unanswered questions by Joshua Mansour, M.D. to leaders in medicine, media and government that need to be addressed:

1. How many of our children in danger of becoming addicted to vaping?

2. What can we do to prevent their access to the products?

3. Why is vaping so common among underage people?

4. How damage can frequent vaping do to underage people?

5. What can we do to limit the underage access to vaping products?

6. Why do people think that vaping is safer than smoking cigarettes?

7. What should be done about children already who are already addicted to nicotine through vaping?

8. How Much More Damage will be Done Before Under-age Vaping is Prevented?
