Book Reviews: Crazy for Cake Pops & Ice Cream Happy Hour

Keep reading to find out about two new HOT books I have had the pleasure of reviewing: Crazy for Cake Pops (you know my love of all things cake!) and Ice Cream Happy Hour!

Crazy for Cake Pops
50 All-New Delicious and Adorable Creations
By Molly Bakes

This is an awesome how-to book containing everything you need to know to make the perfect cake pops for any and all occasion! Before reading this book- I was somewhat intimidated at the prospect of making cake pops. Cake balls are kind of tricky and then adding the stick element- just seemed a bit complicated- well I am happy to report- I am now a cake pop convert. SUPER cute and SO popular. Everyone loves how cute & stylish cake balls are. They add a festive flair to all your events or non-events! No need to be intimidated- just grab a copy of Crazy for Cake Pops and learn everything you need to know to dive right in- baker or not!

Crazy for Cake Pops details every step of the cake pop process: baking, crumbling, frosting, and decorating. Also included are tons of DELICIOUS flavor options for both cake and frosting. No need to stick to simple chocolate or vanilla- venture to something more fun like lemon, red velvet, or peanut butter to name a few. I LOVE trying new flavor combinations so this was an especially important detail for me. Of course chocolate chocolate is still a favorite!

Crazy for Cake Pops contains 75 full color photos! What is a cookbook without photos (boring thats what). I LOVE the colorful detailed pictures- they make it so easy to re-create even the "fanciest" of cake pops. Just prop the book up, follow the easy to understand directions, and glance at the pictures for reference- easy as pie (or cake). Some of the super cute ideas in this book include: Clouds, Gift Boxes, Bird Pops, Tropical Fish, Purses, Ice Cream Cones, Tea Pots and Cups, Flowers, Sheep Pops, Teddie Bears, Poker Chip and Dice Pops, Valentine Hearts, Easter Eggs, Pumpkin and Skull Pops, Christmas Snowmen and MORE!

Ice Cream Happy Hour
50 Boozy Treats That You Spike and Freeze at Home
By Valerie Lum and Jenise Addison

This fantastic, detailed ice cream recipe book contains 50 full color recipes for adult ice cream! All the fun you expect from a title like Ice Cream Happy Hour- this book really delivers! This book is a must have for party throwers or party goers. What better way to impress your guests than booze spiked ice creams? Tons of fantastic recipes ranging from fruity to rich and decadent. Something for the ice cream loving child in all of us (NOT for children though LOL).

I am a huge fan of ice cream and do enjoy an adult beverage from time to time- so what better way to fulfill your sweet tooth after a stressful day than some adult ice cream?? The book not only includes fabulous pictures but detailed step-by-step instructions allowing even the ice cream novice (like me!) to create all these fabulous ice cream treats with ease.

Learn how to turn your love of pineapple into a pina colada ice cream! How about a white russian ice cream treat? Oh don't forget about the classic old fashioned! Tons of other yummy treats such as butter pecan, mojito, mai tai, strawberry margaritta, and so many more! I love that the recipes include so many hard ice cream recipes- yum!
