Niece Pecenka

This DVD contains three 15-18 minute workouts. Niece leads these routines with one background exerciser who provides some beginner modifications. You will only need your FXP Hula Hoop for these routines. You can select a workout or play all from the main menu. The routines are ballet barre fusion routines. Niece works out barefoot.

Lower Body Sculpt: Niece uses the hoop as a barre in this routine. Exercises include closed stance plie pulses, pedals, 1st position plies, balance quad raises, modified side plank leg work, bridge series, and a quick stretch.

Sculpted Arms & Abs: After a quick warm up you move into standing hoop squeezes, hoop pull ins adding rotation, single leg balance stance holding the hoop overhead, balance stance hoop tri squeezes, seated hoop bi curls & delt squeezes, leg raise & hoop curls, c curve & bi curls, chest squeezes adding crunches, and oblique knee pulls & crunches using the hoop as a prop.

Cardio Burn: Hooping with various stances, hooping with level changes (up & down), a lunge series, a squat series adding knee pulls, hooping adding in arm movements, and a cool down.

Niece uses the hula hoop in a lot of great ways: for balance, as a barre, for core work, and as a prop. She is an excellent instructor, I like her demeanor and she provides great cuing & form pointers. The hoop is easy to put together and I liked the workouts. The hoop provides good resistance in the upper body work & the use as a barre work makes for a great lower body workout. I received this dvd to review.
