Richard Simmons, 1990
Richard Simmons is a zany lovable fitness fanatic that has lost a ton of weight himself. The Sweatin series of DVDs feature classic oldies songs and a group of "work in progress" exercisers. The fun factor is high in these and the music is great in this 60 min routine. You will need a set of light hand weights for short strength set that follows the cardio.
The group works out in an old school diner set. Songs Featured include Big Girls Dont Cry, My Boyfriends Back, Pretty Woman, Fever, and more. After a warm up & chair stretch segment, exercises include walking up & back, side to side, wash the windows, twists, pushes to the side, arm circles, ham curls, double side step, monkey, and a toning series using soda bottles.
The choreo and intensity in these are both high beginner but can easily be adapted up or down to suit your needs. The "dance-esque" moves remind me of being a kid & making up little routines to go with songs, as the exercises tend to match the lyrics. This one is fun on the floor and also great on the rebounder. Richard and the group are obviously having a ton of fun & the energy is contagious. I am a fan! I did not receive this DVD to review. I pulled these out & dusted them off during my back injury period for some fun low impact cardio.
