11.17.09: Today's Workout and First Fondant Cake!

Today I forced myself to do the LB advanced Mission Specialist w/o on BBC. I have been dreading it for a week and 1/2. Well it wasnt as bad as I had anticipated. Sometimes, dreading things is good because then usually it isnt as bad as you thought it'd be. That was the case here. The last move in the Fat Blaster w/o is the (dreaded) Mt. Climber blech. Then the 1st move in the MS LB advanced w/o is jumping squats. So that combo is just not the most pleasant. I get super light headed being on the ground like that for Mt. Climbers then up right away for jumping squats-yikes. Slight ringing in the ears, fuzzy vision-always fun things at 6:00 in the morning...(to the non-exercisers dont let this deter you from w/o'ing out. It really is fun, I swear)
First this for 1 min:then this for 1 min:

Then (at least) one minute of this:

just kidding! My stability ball isn't pink. No really, I don't collapse on the floor. I always tell Jay I just go in the Hello Kitty room and nap w/ a w/o playing in the background to make him think Im working out LOL. Not that he cares if I w/o out, but its funny.

Today's Workout:
-MS LB adv
-MS abs beg
-Quick Fix: Total Cardio Mix - The Complete Cardio Workout System (cardio kickbox segment)
*total w/o time 60 min + stretch

I also got in a lunchtime walk today! My motivation: Buying a slightly-too-tight pair of pants. Nothing like havin some muffin top when you sit down to give you that little extra push :)

Course 3,
Cake 1 (first fondant cake): Christmas Gift Cake
Honestly, the picture loooks better than the live cake BUT I am very happy w/ this one! My first time ever working w/ fondant and didnt have a whole lot of time. Also happy that-we gave the cake to our neighbors so it wont be in my fridge to tempt me! They have two sons, so I figure they will be able to eat it up w/ no problems.  Custom cakes by Lindsey LuPhoenix custom cakesSpecialty Cakes Phoenix

  1. It's nice to meet you. Found you on the yaya boards.

Love your cakes! They look very good. I didn't know until I found your blog that you were in the Wave infomercial. I don't have a wave yet--waiting until it gets cheaper. I think it looks fantastic for balance work, though.

You've got an amazing history here, and I look forward to following your blog! I love when I find people who are so inspiring to me. =)

  2. Awesome job on the cake, Linds!
It looks perfect....and Fondant can be tough!
    GREAT JOB!!!

  3. BTW...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hello Kitty Gym!
    I am so jealous!

  4. Jo-Im so glad I found your blog! We have so much in common! You are doing so awesome w/ the Firm. Keep up the good work...The Wave is nice-I like it more and more each time I use it.

Sarah-thanks :) on both accounts!!! Hello Kitty motivates me to w/o-at least that what I tell people who wonder why a 30 year old has a HK gym LOL!

  5. LOL....I am moving in a month or so, and when I do, this 30 yr old will have a "Strawberry Shortcake" gym area! LOL.... :)

  6. NO WAY! I love it!!!!! I cant wait to see pics. I just love strawberry shortcake! I had all the toys when I was a kid.

  7. Wow Lindsey! That cake looks fantastic - very professional. Glad you were able to give it away though.

And I know what you mean about tough workouts - the dread is usally worse than the reality.

  8. Ahhhhh thanks RP! I was very glad to not have it in the house. Too much temptation as cake is my all time favorite!

  9. Oooh, you’re such an inspiration. I love this blog!
