IdealFit: Ideal Lean 15 Day Challenge ~ I Lost 9.8 Lbs! 10% Discount Code

Last year I did the Ideal Fit meal plan for a few months now & had great success (I did not get this for review, just LOVE the products)! I lost 9.8 lbs in my 15 day challenge. The meal plans are based on macro timing around your workouts. The best part is the 15 day meal plan is free! The meal plans give you exactly the amounts of carbs, proteins, and fats based on when you workout. I have been wanting to try macro timing for a long time but never had the energy to do all the research and make up meal plans. Well now I dont have to. My body loved this type of eating and reacted very well! My referral link above will save you 10% on your order (over $20) and I believe I also save 10% on my next order- win win! I did not receive samples of these, my sister told me about this and I am just loving it and having great success so I wanted to share. And of course the referral code can save me some money on my next order.

To Access the 15 Day Challenge (and their other free challenges click on the "challenge link on the page)

The company, IdealFit does sell protein powder and other supplements that can be used in the meal plans as well. I originally was going to use up a protein powder that I had on hand, but when I compared the nutrition stats to Ideal Lean protein powder I opted to purchase theirs. No carbs, no sugar, and only 80 calories.

Each day you get SIX meals!!! So you get to eat every few hours and you get unlimited veggies from a list. I had gained a lot of weight over the past year or so and just could not get it off. I am down over 15 lbs now and just about back to my lowest weight :) using these meal plans so I am truly loving this way of eating. Tons of variety in eating and the unlimited veggies is awesome for those hungry days - Im a hungry girl lol in general so this just works for me.
They also have a 6 week challenge that comes with a bunch of more meal plans and access to that Facebook group -where I have found a ton of meal plans substitutes created by other members. The 6 week also comes with a huge substitution list so you can really customize each meal if you get bored. I bought the 6 week when it was available with 2 tubs of protein for, maybe $80 which isnt much more than the protein tubs so it was TOTALLY worth it. I am loving the variety and am doing great with this program.
I LOVE the Ideal Lean protein powder flavors: Pina Colada, Vanilla, Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Coconut, and Caramel Mocha. I havent tried all the flavors. They also offer BCAA's and pre-workout supplements that are also good!

IdealFit 6 Week Fit Body Challenge: Week 4 ~ Tabata Week
Lindsey Matthews

This DVD set contains 6 weeks of workouts on 6 DVDs. Each week has 6 workouts; each weeks workouts are on its own disc. The workouts are set up to be done in their chronological order each week and contain cardio, strength, and core workout! You will need to add on your own warm up & cool down, though the paper workouts detail a warm up & cool down routine. Each workout is right around 25 minutes. You will need dumbbells and a stability ball for these routines. Week 4 is Tabata week so each workout includes a 2 min 20 seconds on 10 seconds off Tabata blast.

W4W1 Back, Chest with Cardio Bursts: This is mainly a back routine and includes a little chest work along with cardio bursts. You do 2 circuits 2 times each. You begin this workout with a Tabata row routine. Exercises include 1 arm row, quick fire rows, extended position plank (targeting the upper back & core), burpee- Mt climber- pushup- hi knees- jacks, and lat push backs.

W4W2 Chest, Shoulders, & Core with Cardio Bursts: You do 2 circuits 2 times each, starting with your 2 min Tabata pushups. Exercises include reverse fly, medial delt raise, front raise, elevator plank - plank jacks - jacks, pushup to side plank, and tricep pushups.

W4W3 Lower Body & Cardio: You do 2 circuits 3 times each. Exercises include stationary lunges, lunge hops, curtsy lunges, sumo hold, plyo lunges, rear raises laying over the ball, ball bridge, ball ham pull ins, and concludes with 2 minutes of 20/10 pop squats.

W4W4 Back, Bi's, & Core: You do 2 circuits 2 times each. This routine does not have any cardio exercises. Exercises include 45* rows, underhand 21 rows, ball incline curls, dumbbell pass crunches, tabata renegade row walk outs, inverted cable pull, bi 21's + 7 extra reps, weighted sit-ups, & supine flutter kicks.

W4W5 Ches, Tri's & Shoulders & Tabata Cardio. You will perform 2 circuits 2 times each, the only cardio in this one is two sets of mt climber tabatas. Exercises include bench press, pec fly, overhead press var, pushups dumbbell transfer, overhead tri extension, and Y & lat raise.

W4W6: Lower Body & Cardio: You 2 circuits 3 times each. This is the most cardio intensive & most challenging of the set I have done so far.
You begin this workout with a plyo lunge Tabata set. Exercises include balance runners lunge to standing & single leg burpees, deadlift & burpees, jump squats, booty pop ups with your heels elevated, pop squats, surrenders, and squat holds.

This weeks routines are higher intermediate workouts, though the poundage you use will determine how challenging your workouts are. The upper body workouts are more focused on fewer muscle groups so you are hitting them a little harder this week and you get a nice little Tabata burner in each one. There are definitely a few more advanced exercises included this week. In under 30 minutes you will get your muscles firing and your heart pumping.
The pace is moderate and allows for moderately heavy weights. I did NOT receive this dvd to review.

The workouts are only 25ish minutes and you can easily adjust the intensity by adjusting your poundage, adding weights, or doing a modification that Lindsey offers. The workouts are appropriate for most all fitness levels. Lindsey coaches the workout and her partner performs the exercises. I love the interval format and that each workout contains cardio so you dont have to do a separate cardio day. Each workout is efficient and you accomplish a lot in only 25 minutes. The pace is moderate and allows for moderately heavy weights. They do give you 90 second recovery breaks between circuits that are great if you need them, if not, you can FF through them. IdealFit Protein Powder Review & Info! Only 80 Calories, 20 Grams Protein and NO Sugar or Carbs!

As you probably have read, I have been following the IdealFit meal plans and have lost 15+ lbs!  You can get the 15 day challenge meal plan and workouts for free! I started there, loved it so much I purchased their 6 Week Fit Body Challenge, and then the Sculpt Challenge. The meal plans are great and include SIX meals a day- yes that includes dessert! I use and recommend the IdealFit protein Powder. It contains only 80 calories per serving and has 20 grams of protein! It comes in a ton of flavors and mixes up nice & smooth. The price is right - currently only $29.99 for a 30 serving tub - this is MUCH cheaper than other brands I have tried. Here is my affiliate link (click the challenges link in the toolbar) that save you 10% on your order (over $20) and I believe I also save 10% on my next order. Keep reading to learn more.

I recommend starting with the Chocolate Brownie & French Vanilla since they adapt easily to the recipes in the meal plans. The meal plans include detailed recipes, shopping lists and daily menus. The protein powder is currently on sale for only $29.99 each and you can save even more by using my affiliate link.

I love the Chocolate Coconut and the Pina Colada- they are my 2 favorites. The Pina Colada is awesome with just milk & ice and the Chocolate Coconut is so good in the desserts! I seriously have like 6 tubs in my cupboard right now. Hey I like variety! I have not tried the Peaches N Cream or the Strawberries N Cream (yet). My least favorite was actually the Cake Batter- it was good but similar to vanilla so I probably would just stick with vanilla next time. I LOVED all the other flavors I have tried. Oh I also LOVE the Caramel Mocha - blend with amilk & ice and you have yourself a healthy "frappe"

Protein Flavors include:
  • Chocolate Brownie
  • French Vanilla
  • Caramel Mocha
  • Chocolate Coconut
  • Peaches N Cream
  • Strawberries N Cream
  • Cake Batter
  • Mint Chocolate

Each serving contains: 0 Fat, 0 sugar, 20 grams protein, 80 calories

The recipes included in these systems are awesome! They utilize the protein powder in amazing ways- to ensure you are getting enough protein & to 'healthify' foods you dont normally get to eat. Some of my favorite recipes besides the many amazing protein shake recipse include:
  • Protein Pancakes/ Waffles
  • Cinnamon Roll Muffins
  • Chocolate Lava Mug Cake
  • Blueberry Muscle Muffins
  • Apple Pie Bake
  • No Bake Protein Cookies
  • Raspberry Cheesecake Protein Shake
  • So Many MORE
I really love these meal plans because they also include some treats that I havent eaten in YEARS! Lucky Charms or any other breakfast cereal, a healthy McMuffin type breakfast sandwich, Pop-Tarts. If you time your macros around your workouts in the correct way- you can have some yummy treats now & then! There are also a cheat meal each week that keeps you on track. I knew NOTHING about macros when I started this program- but you dont have to-Lindsey includes everything you need to know & has all the macros already planned out for you based on when YOU workout -morning, noon, evening, night - you name it! She includes substitutions too so if you eat strictly clean - she has something instead of the cereal/ pop-tart, etc.

Here is my updated progress pic from this morning (these are all this AM). I just got back from a 10 day vacation of lots of eating and drinking and not a lot of exercise so I am getting back on track and am back down 3 lbs this week already!

W1W1 Chest, Back, & Shoulders with Cardio Bursts: You do 2 circuits 2 times each. Exercises include pushups, pec fly, lat raise, overhead press, jacks, lat pulls, snow angel arm circles, upper back fly, and Mt. climbers.

W1W2 Lower Body & Cardio: You do 2 circuits 2 times each. Exercises include dips, plyo lunges, wall squats using the ball, deadlifts, fast floor touch leaps (suicides), butt kicks, jogging, ball hamstring pull in, single leg deadlift, calf raises, mogul hops, surrenders, and squat jacks.

W1W3 Core with Cardio Bursts: You do 2 circuits 3 times each. Exercises include burpees, mt climbers, ball crunches, plank, walk out to plank, V twists, and plank shifts.

W1W4 Upper Body & CardioYou do 2 circuits 2 times each. Exercises include front press, wide row, in & out bi curls, tri dips, hi knees, butt kicks, jacks, ribcage pullover, pushups with your feet on the ball, and hammer curls.

W1W5 Lower Body & Cardio: You will perform 2 circuits 2 times each. Exercises include good mornings, reverse squats with heels on your weights, deadlifts, squat kicks, pop squats, wall sits, body weight squats, static lunges, and plyo lunges.

W1W6: Core with Cardio Bursts: You 2 circuits 3 times each. Exercises include burpees, mt climbers, plank hip twists, side planks, burpee to jacks, and ball tucks.

These are intermediate workouts, they are only 25ish minutes and some of the lower body work is unweighted. You can adjust the intensity by adjusting your poundage, adding weights, or doing a modification that Lindsey offers-really making these workouts appropriate for all fitness levels. They do give you 60-90 second recovery breaks between circuits that are great if you need them, if not, you can FF through them. I did NOT receive this dvd to review.

Year in Review: 2016 Wrap Up (SUPER LATE!)

General 2016:

Here is my super late year in review post. You can reference last Years post (here). 2016 brought me a much better fitness year! My lower back injury -just very recently is feeling, dare I say, 100%! That is the good news. The bad news is another old injury is flaring up - but its not near as impeding as the lower back injury. I just had an MRI done so we will see what that brings....I injured my trap muscle on the right side many years ago with kettlebells. I wont do them again. Anyways though I am (very recently) back to my regular workouts and even back to my heaviest dumbbells so that is great news! I was planning on running a 1/2 marathon this year, but my knees are just getting too bad. I did a 12k in December and my knees and ankle were just killing me after so I am sticking to only 5ks and not too many of them next season.

IdealFit:

I have even lost 15+ lbs using the IdealFit meal plans! My results pic above :) My sister had introduced me to their meal plans last summer and I have basically been doing them since then with great success. More details about IdealFit are in this post. I originally used the free 15 day plan, loved it, purchased the 6 week plan, loved it and just recently purchased their sculpt plan. So I now have the 15 day meal plans, 6 week meal plans, sculpt meal plans, and some meal plans created by members on their 6 week challenge FB page. You can only get access to those FB pages if you purchase those plans, though you can get into the 15 Day Challenge without any purchases.

I am not 100% strict with the plans, and not doing their workouts (Im doing my own workouts). Sometimes I sneak a cocktail in the evenings. And I OFTEN have a cheat weekend, instead of cheat meal- we travel a lot but I am still maintaining my loss. This is a huge win for me. I am at about my maintenance weight anyways and I like the freedom of free weekends and not gaining is great for me!

All of the plans come with workouts in one form or another -printable, or YouTube workouts. They are JUST now on DVD so I bought them but I havent done them yet. I am partial to DVDs so I am excited to check these out. The DVDs now come with the 6 Week Challenge bundle with protein powder and meal plans. Since I already have the 6 week I called and was able to order the DVDs for only $15.

I basically just bought the sculpt plan for the meal plans and probably wont ever do the workouts. If you are into heavier lifting or gym workouts - the Sculpt program is for you. I just prefer home workouts DVDs so I dont see myself using those workouts but you can get all the info in the challenges section of their website.

Here is my affiliate link that save you 10% on your order (over $20) and I believe I also save 10% on my next order- win win! Just click on the challenges link on the top toolbar and you can see all that are available- many are free! I highly suggest checking out the free 15 Day Challenge and then if you love it as much as I did- go for the 6 Week Challenge for the added meal plans and DVDs. Stay tuned on the blog & I will review the workouts as soon as I get to them

Workout/ DVD Wrap Up 2016:

There were a ton of workouts that I liked in 2016. I think my favorite was the Rippedism series. These are solid workouts, great for men & women, lots of variety, effective and they arent super long dread filled workouts. They are streaming and as stated above, I am old school and prefer DVDs. But super convenient for those that prefer streaming. They are also a great price and require very little equipment.

I got a few Cathe sets this year as well-Cathe ICE  and Cathe Strong & Sweaty. Really enjoy them but I dont find myself reaching for them nonstop like I do with some of my all time beloved sets. I am eyeing her Cathe live if I can get DH to hook it to my TV. I just hate using an iPad mini for workouts when I have a 42" flat screen hanging on the wall.

My most used DVD of 2016 was 10 Minute Solution Tighten & Tone Pilates- well actually ONLY the stretch segment. I used it basically every day this year. I credit this section for fixing my lower back issues. It uses a stretchy band & is the BEST stretch segment that I own. It really focuses on the hips and hamstrings which in turn release the lower back. I would buy this DVD just for that section. Im sure the other sections are fine too but Im not hugely into pilates.

All Time Fitness Favorites:

My absolute favorite workouts are still Barry's Bootcamp Fat Blaster set (the link will actually take you to all my BBC reviews, not just the Fat Blaster set)- I use this set all the time! I actually wore out one of my DVDs & my band and replaced them. I also LOVE The FIRM BSS3 & BSS4 sets (again this link will take you to all my FIRM reviews) Anything using the incline box I LOVE! In fact, I did incline box work all this week!

Best 2016 Products:

Natural Deodorant: I love both Go Healthy Next Organic Tallow Deodorant and Green Goo by Sierra Sage Deodorant. Both are natural and contain no aluminum and both WORK! The Tallow is in a tub so I actually transferred it to a stick for ease of use.

Food:  LOVE LOVE LOVE NuNaturals Stevia Cocoa Syrup. I make a protein powder melting cake with it that is AMAZING! Recipe in the link provided. Stay tuned on the blog for another NuNaturals giveaway coming soon! Butcher Box Organic meats delivered right to your door. Amazingly delicious, and super convenient! I also love Crispy Green freeze dried fruit. Super convenient to take on the go or great for when you dont buy enough fruit and can just keep these handy in the pantry.

Beauty: Camilla Rose Naturals Coconut Water Hydrating and Styling products. LOVE both the products that I got to review. Highly recommend this line for all the curly girls out there.
